DIY - The star tree forest

Enhance your Christmas table with a magical DIY, to do with the family. Wood, fir branches, stars... Discover all our tips for creating a unique decoration and welcoming your guests in the middle of an enchanted forest.

Much more than an aesthetic attention, making a pretty Christmas table decoration yourself is also a way of rediscovering your inner child and awakening the creativity of the youngest. Assembling, cutting, sticking, coloring... An ideal activity to keep brothers and sisters, cousins and cousins entertained, after an invigorating walk in the forest, hands full of little treasures.

Here are the different steps to create your DIY Christmas table decoration:

The necessary material:
  • The downloadable model of the stars

  • Wooden sticks (collect sticks or buy in craft stores)

  • Foam board or foam board or basic corrugated cardboard

  • Fir branches

  • A hot glue gun

  • A pencil and a ruler

  • A pair of scissors

  • Wooden logs of different diameters

  • Sticks collected during your walks

  • Small ornaments, mini Christmas balls, lollipops…

  • Artificial snow spray (optional)

  • A string of lights

On a red background is placed the following material: fir branches, a garland, small Christmas balls, small wooden logs, a pair of scissors, red and gold bows, stars, wooden branches and wooden sticks, a glue gun, a ruler, a pencil, a pattern to make the stars, Pierrot Gourmand ball lollipops

The stages of implementation:

Step 1: Creating the stars

Create the wooden stars using the downloadable templates. To do this, glue wooden sticks together using hot glue, following the outline of the star drawn on the template. Cut to the right length if necessary. For "full" stars, you will then need to cut out the star template from a piece of foam board (available in arts and crafts stores).

On a red background is a paper template that allows you to make the stars, a pencil, a ruler, a pair of scissors, a glue gun and Pierrot Gourmand fruit-flavored lollipops. A star is already formed using wooden sticks. Near it is another star made of foam board. They have the same template as the stars made using wooden sticks.

Step 2: Decorate the stars

Glue fir branches on the wooden stars on both the front and back of the star. Completely fill the stars made with the sticks and those made of foam board with fir branches, without forgetting to dress both sides.

The photo shows how to decorate the stars made from the wooden sticks. Using a glue gun, glue the fir branches on the front and back of the star.

Step 3: Making the bases

Cut (or purchase) different diameters of wood logs as well as sticks of varying heights.

Make the tree bases by gluing the stick to the base of the star and then glue it to the wooden log using hot glue. If the diameter of the stick is not wide enough by at least 1cm, then lightly drill the wooden log using a drill before gluing the stick that will form the trunk.

This image highlights how to create the bases that will hold the stars. On small wooden logs, glue a wooden stick using a glue gun which will then be glued to the star.

Step 4: Decorating the star trees

Decorate the star trees with small ornaments, mini Christmas balls or even candies and lollipops. Sprinkle a little spray snow for a wintery look.

This photo shows 5 decorated stars. On one of them, red bows are hung on the fir branches with a red Pierrot Gourmand lollipop ball. On the others, Christmas balls are hung with golden stars and moons.

Step 5: Table layout

Arrange the star trees on your Christmas table on a carpet of eucalyptus, branches or artificial snow, not forgetting a string of lights to bring magic to your forest of star trees.

The photo zooms in on the stars decorated with Christmas balls, gold stars, a red ribbon, and Pierrot Gourmand ball lollipops.

The photo highlights the entire Christmas table. The tableware for 6 people is set, and the table runner decorates the table. In the background, there is a Christmas tree, a Pierrot Gourmand bust and white candles.

And there you have it, your DIY Christmas table decoration is finished!
