The character of Pierrot originates from the heart of the Comedia Dell'Arte. But it is a more lunar and touching version of the character that inspires Georges Evrard, the one that comes to life in the guise of the mime Jean Gaspard, known as Jean Debureau, to the popular tune "Au clair de la lune". He thus very naturally decides to follow in this lineage and to address to the public a message of sweetness and gluttony, a real tasty escape!

1899

Given the success of his sweets, he registered the trademark "Pierrot Gourmand". The image of Pierrot Gourmand sitting on a crescent moon, mischievous, hesitating to offer sweets to Colombine, became the effigy of the brand for a long time. It was the beginning of the great Pierrot Gourmand adventure! The house would remain associated with this image of a lunar, imaginary and endearing character.
