At Pierrot Gourmand’s, we know that decorating your home for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations brings Christmas magic into your family’s minds.
We thus have created an easy Christmas socks DIY just for you.
So let’s go! Take threads, needles, and your fire place decorated with these Christmas socks will look so pretty.
Equipment needed :
- Velvet fabric (1mx50cm)
- Christmas fabric (1mx50cm)
- Golden ribbon for the tie
- Fabric pen (or chalk marker)
- Thread and needle
Steps
Step 1:
Preparation of the sock template Let’s start with the sock template for velvet fabric. For the other fabric, you will have to add 15cm at the top of this template
Step 2: Creation of the Christmas sock
Cut the velvet fabric by placing the template as shown. For the other fabric, do the same by adding 15cm at the top. Then cut both velvet fabrics and both Christmas fabrics on the reverse.
Then sew the two velvet fabrics and the two Christmas fabrics on the wrong side.
Step 3: Flap of the socks
Once sewn, you have 2 socks. Turn the Christmas fabric sock 7 cm then 8 cm to make a nice flap on the velvet.
Step 4: Sock customization
Then sew the tie inside and you may also add some small accessories (here a star and a moon made with self-hardening clay and gold painted).
